"As the crisis in the Middle East continues to unfold, I am making an emergency trip to Israel as your ambassador. The Jewish People are in turmoil today. Syrian leaders are threatening to use what they call “strategic weapons” against Israel. Given the deaths of hundreds in Damascus in a chemical weapons attack, this is no idle threat.
The demand for gas masks, along with food and medical supplies needed to survive such an attack, is staggering. The government does not have the resources to meet the need. Today, I am asking you to send a special emergency gift to help the people of Israel in this urgent crisis. I want to take your gift with me so that we can purchase and distribute this life-saving help to the poor of Israel.
The members of the Jerusalem Prayer Team—loving and generous friends like you—have already paid to renovate a massive bomb shelter in Jerusalem for the elderly Holocaust survivors who live nearby…but we must do even more.
